Dr. Berg’s Vitamin C Complex is aΒ 100% Natural Whole Vitamin C Complex created from the combination of four nutrient dense berries:

  • Organic Freeze-Dried Acerola Cherry Fruit:Β Well-known for being extremely rich in Vitamin C. Acerola Cherry also contains thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine, folic acid, pantothenic acid, minerals, and phytonutrients such as quercetin, beta-carotene, lutein and kaempferol.
  • Organic Freeze-Dried Acai Berry Fruit:Β Loaded with powerful plant compounds that act as antioxidants and could have benefits for your brain, heart, and overall health. From the Amazon rainforests, acai berries contain health promoting trace minerals such as chromium, zinc, iron, copper, manganese, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus. Acai berries also contain trace amounts of omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids such as linoleic acid and oleic acid. You should know that acai beats all edible berries in antioxidant properties.
  • Organic Freeze-Dried Strawberry Fruit: Strawberries aren’t just delicious, they are also a good source of vitamin C, manganese, folate (vitamin B9), and potassium. Strawberries are also antioxidant rich and include immune system supporting compounds such as: pelargonidin (gives the fruit its color), ellagic acid (powerful antioxidant), ellagitannins (supports gut health), and procyanidins (another kind of antioxidant).
  • Organic Freeze-Dried Blueberry Fruit:Β Helps build a strong immune system, supports heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure and mental health. Blueberries are also packed with mega-antioxidants. They are also some of the best sources for vitamins C, K, and manganese, all of which your healthy body uses to function normally and as intended. Foods high in antioxidants support the elimination of harmful free radicals. Blueberries also have properties that help support a healthy brain and nervous system. There are also studies that show the nutrients in blueberries support muscle recovery after exercise.

Dr. Berg’s Vitamin C Complex is delicious, chewable, organic, whole-food vitamin C that supports your GOOD HEALTH! It hasΒ NO synthetic vitamin CΒ unlike other products that use cheap synthetic vitamins.

What is Vitamin C and What Does It Do?

Vitamin C is a water-soluble nutrient found in some foods that acts as an antioxidant in the body helping to protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals, compounds formed when our bodies convert the food we eat into energy. People are also exposed to free radicals in the environment from cigarette smoke, air pollution, and ultraviolet light from the sun.

The body also needs vitamin C to make collagen, a protein required to help wounds heal. In addition, vitamin C assists in the absorption of iron from plant-based foods and helps the immune system work properly to protect the body from disease. Vitamin C’s iron-absorption enhancing aid helps prevent iron-deficiency anemia.

Benefits of Vitamin C

These are a quick list of vitamin C’s powerful benefits:

  • Vitamin C performs many functions involving the immune system and tissue development.
  • Vitamin C is involved in iron absorption and in the syntheses of enzymes, hormones, and proteins.
  • The adrenal glands need large amounts of this nutrient in order to support immunity and help produce energy.
  • Vitamin C is easily washed from the body and needs to be replaced constantly. Without vitamin C, the body cannot make collagen, the substance that holds the body’s cells together and maintains skin integrity.
  • Vitamin C works best with attending bioflavonoids, which help protect the body from free radical damage.

Studies have shown that antioxidants may also aid in the treatment and prevention of multiple chronic conditions, such as heart disease, autoimmune disorders, and even cancer. Other studies on Vitamin C also suggest that a higher consumption of vitamin C-rich fruits and vegetables may be associated with a lower risk of many chronic conditions.

Moreover, more studies have repeatedly confirmed the immune-boosting benefits of vitamin C. For instance, a study published in the Annals of Nutrition & Metabolism concluded that getting enough vitamin C may help reduce symptoms and shorten the duration of respiratory tract infections like the common cold. Likewise, vitamin C may also help decrease the incidence of other conditions like pneumonia, malaria, and diarrhea.

Vitamin C supports heart health as shown by a review from the National University of Health Sciences. This study, made up of 13 studies, showed that supplementing with 500 milligrams of vitamin C daily significantly reduced levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. Similarly, another human study from the University of Southampton found that a higher consumption of vitamin C was associated with a lower risk of death from stroke or coronary heart disease. Isn’t that wonderful?!

Because vitamin C is involved in the production of collagen, vitamin C is believed to help slow down skin aging and can also protect against skin damage caused by exposure to ultraviolet light. Plus, studies have shown that vitamin C may help suppress melanin production to prevent dark spots and patches.

Vitamin C reduces the Risk of Gout! Gout is a painful form of arthritis characterized by swollen and stiff joints due to a buildup of uric acid in the joints and most commonly affects the foot and big toe.
