Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that also acts as a powerful antioxidant in the body. They concluded that “The results of this study strongly support the hypothesis that the vitamin A-deficient state is one of the factors that can enhance the risk of urolithiasis [the process of forming stones in the kidney, bladder, and/or urinary tract] in susceptible populations.”
